Tyler Coia on The Best Things to Do in Indiana During The Summer Season

As a proud resident of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Tyler Coia loves summer in the Midwest. Tyler J. Coia believes people in Indiana simply appreciate the summer season more as the winters can get brutal. It is important to take full advantage of the summer heat, so without further delay, here are the best ways to enjoy Indiana in the summer, according to Tyler J. Coia.

The Indianapolis Zoo is a spectacular zoo for people of all ages. With a number of different attractions available at the zoo, Indiana residents can visit again and again while seeing something new. If you head to the Indianapolis Zoo on a particularly hot summer’s day, Tyler J. Coia recommends taking advantage of the misting stations. These stations are a great way to stay cool and are located close to a number of different snack booths, which can provide sports drinks and more to keep all guests hydrated and refreshed. The White River Gardens sits along three acres of land. You will want to bring a camera as the garden is jam packed with beautiful flowers. There is also the Hilbert Conservatory that is inside and hosts a number of shows throughout the year.

Tyler J. Coia notes that those with younger children may want to visit the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo as opposed to the Indianapolis Zoo. This children’s zoo offers VIP access, which allows children to get nice and close to a number of animals. Kids can also ride certain animals, so it is a great place for kids to form a lifelong love of animals.

As a baseball fan, Tyler J. Coia always makes it a point to attend at least a few of the home games of the Fort Wayne TinCaps. Parkview Field not only hosts the home games of the TinCaps, but they also hold a number of concerts and special events throughout the summer season. Be sure to check out their event page to see what types of concerts are coming to town. During the days, the park will typically open itself up to runners and walkers who want a new setting for their daily exercise.

No summer is complete without some fun in the water. Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari is a great way to get the whole family in the water. Featured different rides and slides at their gigantic water park, Tyler J. Coia recommends getting there early. Guests can also leave the water park and take on some of the most sought-out roller coasters in all of Indiana.

For those in search of a more traditional beach experience, the Indiana Dunes along the shore of Lake Michigan has more 15 miles of sandy beaches to explore. This area also has scenic hiking routes and some of the best bird watching in all of Indiana. Certain areas of the shoreline will also be heavily populated with people fishing, so Tyler J. Coia recommends staying clear of those areas while out for a swim.

When Tyler Coia is asked about Indiana from those from other parts of the country, they will inevitably bring up either the Indianapolis Colts or the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway. During the summer, the Hall of Fame museum is always packed with tourists and locals alike looking to learn more about racing’s incredible history in the state of Indiana. There are frequent track tours, and free parking is available on non-race days.

Tyler J. Coia notes that the most popular family destination in the state may just be the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. The most popular exhibit is the Hot Wheels: Race to Win exhibit, which lets patrons race Hot Wheel cars, but this is just one of twenty-one unique exhibits. Even those who take a full day to explore the museum may have to return for a second visit to take in all that this museum has to offer.

Tyler J. Coia always jumps at the opportunity to spend a summer’s night in Indiana at the Holcomb Observatory and Planetarium. The Planetarium is located on Sunset Avenue in Indianapolis and lets people take in the views through two incredibly powerful telescopes. There are several educational tours that can help anyone learn a lot more about our solar system.

The great thing about Indiana is Tyler J. Coia hasn’t even scratched the surface of all of the exciting things to enjoy within the state. The time to explore is now, so Tyler Coia hopes this article makes it easy to plan a great day in Indiana.
